It's with great pride to GLOWINGLY recommend Andrea as a potential Night Nurse for expectant parents. My wife and I had twins in August (boy & girl) and worked with Andrea over a 9 week period. (usually 4 nights a week ... Sunday/Monday & Wednesday/Thursday) During the entire process, Andrea was extremely timely, professional, and caring. When we met for the initial consultation, I immediately could sense her loving demeanor towards babies/children. Six months before the babies arrived, she laid out the process while answering all the questions my wife and I had. The regiment we followed was precise (to the minute/ounce) but WELL worth the effort as we currently have two clock work babies
My wife and I can't thank Andrea enough for what she did for our twins. (and our sanity) Andrea is the absolute best!!
An incredible talent and the best gift to our family's life. I am a mother of 3 small children, and my children would not be the amazing, happy sleepers they are if it was not for Andrea's early care. To this day people are amazed how easily my children take naps and sleep through the evening. I give all the credit to Andrea for putting us on the right path of consistent day and night schedules. She is one of the most dedicated night nurses out there that works tirelessly for you and your infant all evening. Her dedication to implementing a nurturing routine is priceless! I have experienced other nurses when she was not available for baby #3. It was impossible to replicate her level of expertise, knowledge and most importantly a true love for babies.
PLEASE call me so I can tell you all about how amazing Auntie Andrea is!
I have three children and have worked with six different night nurses over
the years and none are as loving, expert, organized, knowledgeable or
calming as Andrea. She is not only a night nurse but a newborn
specialist, lactation expert and sleep consultant all wrapped up in one
loving bundle of energy. I reeeeeally appreciated how much she taught me
about newborn sleep habits that have served us well through my children's
lives. Her routines got us in line with our babies' natural sleep rhythms
and enabled all of my children to sleep through the night in no time.
Besides her deep knowledge and expertise, what really makes her unique is
how loving she was with our babies. I could sleep well at night knowing
they were well loved.
I either tested or actively worked with 4 night nannies from the time the twins were born until Andrea left. None of them compared to Andrea. Andrea was very skilled with babies (she seemed to just ‘will’ Kate to burp, while I had to pat her back for what felt like hours), but most night nannies are very good with babies. Andrea stands out because (a) she has twins of her own, so understands the challenges of caring for them during the day (b) is a terrific trouble shooter and problem solver (she always seemed to have the answer, or a terrific suggestion) and most importantly, (c) she transferred her wisdom well. By the time Andrea arrived, I was sick of nannies with 20+ years experience telling me “I just knew…. to give her more food/let him cry/the problem was gas not hunger/the problem was hunger not gas/etc” when I’d ask why they did what they did in any particular instance. Andrea would actually give me answers so that I could recognize that particular situation in the future and deal with it well. Furthermore, she instilled confidence that I could take over/do just fine without her at the appropriate time, by not fostering dependency. Though my twins loved her and I was sorry to see her go, I was not a basket case when Andrea left, and we are all doing really well even now, thanks to Andrea. And when I am stumped, she is even nice enough to answer the occasional question for me.
In short, if you have the ability to hire Andrea, you will not be sorry. She is a rock star. You will be a better parent, and your children happier/easier babies, because of the time she spends with you and them.
Andrea made our scary transition from the NICU, after 3 months of “supervised parenting” to going solo at home, a smooth one. We knew she loved our boys and was an angel for helping us figure out how to manage twins at home. She also held true to her promise - when her time with us was over, our boys were sleeping soundly through the night from 7-7 and their sleep schedules have been manageable ever since. I don’t know how we would have done it without her.
